UPS delivered a long-awaited shipment of formula

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — UPS delivers about 25 million packages a day. On Thursday, the company made a special delivery that will help families across the country.

UPS has partnered with the Biden administration’s Operation Fly Baby Formula to deliver 44,000 pounds of Nestlé infant formula or 548,000 servings of 8-ounce bottles from Switzerland.

The formula will continue in hospitals, home care businesses and WIC (women, infants and children) programs.

Antrell Tyson of the US Department of Health and Human Services says it was special to see.

“I have a 5 year old son. He needed a specialized formula, so I can imagine what a lot of families go through who can’t access that formula that their family needs,” Tyson explains.

Tyson says Operation Fly Formula wouldn’t be possible without private partners like UPS.

The shipping company says it is participating in the unique opportunity to fulfill its mission to deliver what matters.

“I know for UPSers around the world, we are just so proud because we can show off what we do best while serving others,” says UPS Vice President of Flight Operations Captain Houston Mills. .

The shipment is the seventh Operation Fly Formula mission, but the first delivered by UPS

UPS says it will stand by to provide any additional assistance the department may need.

By June 19, Operation Fly Formula flights will have imported nearly 13 million servings of infant formula according to the White House.
