Strong points :
- The main impetus is in Brazil where Sungrow exceeded its cumulative shipments by 6 GW.
- The company also launched its “1+X” modular inverter, the SG350HX string inverter as well as the new commercial and residential innovation
The world’s leading supplier of inverter solutions for renewable energy, Sungrow revealed that its cumulative shipment to Latin America reached 9 GW at Intersolar South America 2022 this week. The company also launched its “1+X” modular inverter, the SG350HX string inverter as well as the new commercial and residential innovation, fueling energy transition and improving grid stability and power supply resilience.
Unleash the potential of solar in LATAM
Sungrow says Latin America is a promising region for solar energy. The company says it is leading the growth trajectory and market development with a new shipment record of 9 GW, while last year’s local milestone of 5 GW is still in sight.
The main impetus is in Brazil, which is one of the top five prospects for the global solar market over the next five years. Sungrow exceeded its cumulative shipments of 6 GW in Brazil.
Cutting-edge innovation in large-scale and distributed solar development
Suitable for large-scale applications, Sungrow deployed its “1+X” modular inverter at the expo. He said the “1+X” modular inverter will lead the next generation of photovoltaic power plant development. The product includes a single unit of at least 1.1 MW, and the maximum capacity can be extended to 8.8 MW by combining eight units. Customers can choose between 1.1 MW and 8.8 MW depending on their specific project requirements. The “1+X” modular inverter redefines both the “string” and “central” inverter.
The SG350HX, a latest 1500V string inverter optimized for large-scale projects in Brazil, was also showcased. The product, rated at 352 kW, is equipped with 16 MPPTs and is compliant with large format modules and tracking systems.
In addition, Brazil’s solar PV distributed generation (DG) is expected to experience a strong growth curve, especially after the approval and official publication of a long-awaited DG law that indicated more certainty, stability and transparency to the market. Meanwhile, growing demand places scalable demands on inverters, including compatibility with large format modules, and optimization of safety and yields. Accordingly, Sungrow has updated its commercial inverter series ranging from 25kW to 110kW and the all-new SG15/20RT-P2 three-phase residential hero.
“2021 was a banner year for Sungrow in Latin America, as we made a significant leap forward due to continued dedication and growing demands from the region. We are ready to seize more opportunities and challenges that will arise in these dynamic Latin American countries with state-of-the-art solutions as well as professional and responsive 24/7 services,” said Ada Li, Head of from Sungrow Latin America.
Li also said that Sungrow will contribute to green manufacturing and operation and engage in international sustainability initiatives RE100 and EP100. He said these factors reinforce his commitment to using 100% renewable energy across the entire value chain and improving energy productivity by 35% by 2028.
Recently, Sungrow set up the world’s largest BIPV project in China.
