Shipments from Iran to Armenia increase by 15% in the first half year-on-year

(MENAFN) The value of shipment from Iran to Armenia jumped 15% in the first 6 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-October 22), compared to the same period of l previous year, an official with Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) said. .

Rahmatollah Khormali, the director general of the TPO’s office for Central Asia, the Caucasus and Russia, put the value of Iran’s shipment to its neighbor at nearly $180 million over a six-month period. and stated that “of course, these statistics exclude the export of gas to Armenia and is related to our trade in goods with this country.

Talking about the gas and electricity trade between the two nations, he mentioned that last year, $120 million worth of electricity as well as gas was traded between the two sides, and this number is to be added to the commercial exchange between the two nations, and it is estimated that by the end of the year, gas and electricity exchanges between the two nations will amount to 400 million dollars.

Mentioning the dispatch of technical and engineering facilities to Armenia, Khormali affirmed that “the construction of a 60-kilometer road is underway in this country, and four Iranian companies participated in the corresponding tender , and the result will be determined in the next few days, and if this project is handed over to the Iranians, it will add a good amount to the value of our exports to this country.
