The second September delivery of fuel rods from Russia has arrived at the Paks nuclear power plant, Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Péter Szijjártó said in a video message posted on Facebook earlier this week.
“We were able to complete the two fuel rod deliveries in September,” Szijjártó said, speaking to Ferenc Liszt International ahead of a flight to Kazakhstan, where he will meet with energy ministers from the Organization of Turkish States. .
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, fuel rods have been delivered to Hungary by air.
Paks Power Station, Hungary’s only commercial source of nuclear power, accounts for about half of Hungary’s electricity generation.
